Counselling

Putting Clients First

What Is Counselling

Counselling provides a safe, confidential, and supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, experiences, and challenges that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Your counsellor will work alongside you to better understand your experiences, helping you explore difficulties at your own pace in a non-judgemental environment.

Counsellors do not diagnose or tell clients what decisions to make. Instead, counselling aims to support self-understanding, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth.

What Counselling Can Help With

People access counselling for many different reasons, and every therapeutic journey is unique.

Counselling may help with:

  • anxiety and overwhelm

  • stress and burnout

  • low mood

  • grief and loss

  • relationship difficulties

  • confidence and self-esteem

  • life transitions

  • emotional wellbeing

  • difficult past or present experiences

Our Approach

At Cherwell Counselling Centre, we aim to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where clients feel listened to and understood.

Many of our counsellors work primarily from a person-centred approach while integrating other therapeutic approaches where appropriate to support individual needs.

The relationship between counsellor and client is one of the most important parts of therapy, so it is important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor.

Qualified & Trainee Counsellors

CCC works with both qualified counsellors and trainee counsellors completing accredited professional counselling training.

All trainee counsellors are enrolled on recognised counselling courses, are members of professional bodies such as the BACP, and receive ongoing clinical supervision in line with professional ethical frameworks.

Working with trainee counsellors allows CCC to offer lower-cost counselling options while continuing to support the development of future counselling professionals.

Sessions with trainee counsellors follow the same professional and ethical standards as sessions with qualified therapists.

Online & In-Person Sessions

Counselling sessions are available online across the UK and in-person in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Sessions usually take place weekly and last up to 50 minutes.

Important Information

Please note that CCC does not provide clinical diagnoses or medical advice.

Counselling is a collaborative process and often requires time, openness, and active participation to support meaningful change.
