Counsellors In Training

Cherwell Counselling Centre provides placements to student counsellors, which allows us to offer low-cost counselling sessions whilst providing trainee counsellors with an opportunity to develop their skills. Sessions with a trainee counsellor will be the same as with a fully qualified therapist.

Each placement counsellor will be on a certified, accredited counselling course. In addition, they will be student members of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or similar professional body and will have completed their fitness to practise certificate.

All therapists will continue to have monthly clinical supervision and adhere to the BACP ethical framework.
